I am from the land of a thousand hills,

Rolling green as far as the eye can see,

What better place could there be ?,

Always woke up in a big house filled with love,

and the beatiful aroma of sweet Rwandan coffee,

leading me to the dining room where we always dine together 3 times a day,

After that play my brother in FIFA one game turns to three,

At lunch eat my favorite meal; chicken with Saffron rice,

I remember the carpet that has our family portrait woven into it hanging on the living room wall,

I miss my grandad even though I never met him but I feel like I know him because of all the epic stories about him,

He always used to say work hard now so that you don't have to when you get older,

And I live by that because you only live once,
